ART + EXPRESSIVE THERAPY

WHAT IS IT?

Art Expressive Therapy

Art therapy is a different form of therapy to traditional talk therapy. We use drawing and painting to create a visual image that helps us understand and express ourselves differently.

Through the use of art, you can find new meaning, understanding and a connection to yourself. Art Therapy offers the opportunity for self-reflection and insight, emotional expression and release, resolving inner conflicts, resolving traumatic experiences and unhelpful life patterns, reducing distress and anxiety, communicate, heal, improve cognitive and sensory motor function, resolve problems, gain self-esteem and emotional resilience, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviour, promote health and wellness, and much more.

Art therapy does not require you to have artistic experience or talent, even if you can’t draw at all. We use everyday art media such as colour pencils, paint, markers, mixed materials, collage, and paper.

The therapist provides you a safe, comfortable, confidential, and supportive environment where you can express yourself. The therapist support you and communicate with you through the therapy process.
